Missionaries are suppose to write home to their family every week. As we will be serving a mission, I thought that it would only be appropriate that we, too, communicate with our family every week that we are in the mission field. As this blog is already established in our name, we thought that it might be appropriate for us to use this method to convey to you our thoughts, experiences, etc. while we are in Nauvoo. Mom is not one that especially likes to write. And Dad thought that he was doing pretty well just to write our entry that gets inserted in the family newsletters each month. But we will do our best to add an entry every week anyway. The entries in the family newsletters may become a summary of what you read here, but we will see how it goes.
We have now pretty much purchased all the clothing and other items that we are suppose to take with us on this mission. We still need to finish preparing our house to be vacated by us and to be lived in by others in our absence. We have three weeks left before we leave. Mom will be gone to Taiwan for more than a one of those weeks. We are starting to feel the heat - hoping that we can do all we need to before we need to leave. If not, I guess we will just have to let others finish the job for us after we leave.
For those that can come, we invite you to be with us when we are set apart for our mission on April 14th in our home. The stake president should be here at 2:45 pm to do the honors.
